All Dodge Rams with the Cummins engine come stock from the factory with a 7 micron OEM fuel filter that is only about 60% efficient. That's right, 60% efficient! According to an in-depth research study conducted by CAT, the 7 micron particle has been shown to be the main cause of accelerated pump and injector wear in the Common Rails producing upwards of 26,000psi. These 7 micron particles blasting through your injectors at that kind of pressure result in premature failure which can cost upwards of $3-4 thousand in repair bills. CAT fuel filters are made to the highest level of quality in a factory, specifically designed to produce 'zero tolerance' filters. CAT built this factory that completely manufactures the filter without a human being touching it, because filter manufacturing can be very tedious and boring, which results in human error. The results of this factory process are a true, 2 micron fuel filter removing 2 micron and larger particles with over 98% efficiency!

*We have assembled a complete kit for the '03-'07 5.9's consisting of eveything you will need to protect your wallet and your truck from this possible premature failure. Our kit is an inside-the-frame mount that sandwiches the frame so NO drilling or welding is required. You simply bolt this on anywhere inside your frame between the fuel tank and the engine and connect the hoses to your stock fuel line using the supplied steel compression fittings. The kit includes the Baldwin filter base FB1311, mounting brackets, 1-R0750 CAT filter, steel braided hoses, fittings, mounting hardware, mini tube cutter and full-color detailed instructions. The installation is very straight-forward and takes approximately 30-45 minutes to complete. The brackets are laser cut from 3/16" steel and come in a black, powder-coated finish. 

Spare filters (CAT Part # 1R-0750) are around $17 and can be found at any CAT dealer nationwide or online.

* These kits will also accept the popular Donaldson P551313 fuel filter for replacement.*

    • A Common Rail injection system is very sensitive to any contaminants, which is why better fuel filtration is so important in promoting long, healthy injector and fuel system life. The current US refined diesel fuel, is not clean enough for these high-pressure injection systems.  Along with our kit, we recommend that you leave the stock fuel filter installed to aid in added water separation. We also recommend the use of a high-quality diesel fuel additive with each fill-up to further protect your complete fuel system. We recommend either Stanadyne or Power Service.

    * PLEASE NOTE: This kit was designed and produced for a long-bed 2003-2007 5.9 Cummins diesel, but may work on other applications with minor modifications. Use your own discretion when ordering this kit as refunds will not be given. Also, please make sure you have enough room under your truck on the frame rail to mount it. You will need approximately 20" of free space, or more in front of the tank to install it. Typically mounts at rear of drivers door underneath.
